"I dedicate my victory at the European Championship held in Budva, Montenegro, to Victory Day."
Idman.Biz reports that these words were said by Khagan Ahmad, the young Azerbaijani chess player who took first place in the category of 14-year-old boys at the European Championship, in an interview with "Report".
"The games in the continental competition were not easy. But the most difficult round was the 8th game. The fight against the Ukrainian opponent in that round was intense, my opponent was strong. But despite this, I won.
I was especially proud when the National Anthem of Azerbaijan was played at the competition. I had set myself the goal of winning. 3 medals at the European Championship is a good result. But there could have been more medals," - added Kh. Ahmad.
It should be noted that young Azerbaijani chess players have won 3 medals at the European Championship. In the competition for 10-year-old girls, Mehriban Ahmadli won a silver medal by scoring 7.5 points in 9 rounds.
