Work will be carried out to develop sports relations between Turkic-speaking countries with the support of chess.
Ilaha Gadimova, Secretary General of the Turkic-Speaking Countries Chess Association and the Azerbaijan Chess Federation, told "Report" about this.
She stated that work is continuing on the formation of the main strategy in the Turkic-Speaking Countries Chess Association:
"A chess tournament of Turkic-speaking countries will be held in Gaziantep in December of this year. A boy and a girl will participate in teams of 16-year-olds. At the same time, the organization's General Assembly meeting will be held in Gaziantep. The main issue is the approval of the statute."
I. Gadimova reminded that the chairmanship of the organization in 2026 will be in the Kazakhstan Chess Federation:
"In 2026, they made a proposal to organize 5-6 tournaments. At the same time, the organization of various chess tournaments between Turkic-speaking countries is being discussed. The main governing body in the organization is the General Assembly, which will include the presidents of all federations. Work will be carried out to develop sports relations between Turkic-speaking countries with the support of chess. The organization will have a great influence in the chess world in the future. Currently, 6 countries are members of the organization. In total, these countries have 200 titled chess players, including 100 international female and male grandmasters."
