The Azerbaijan Chess Championship continues. Sport24.az reports that the first leg matches of the 1/8 finals have been held.
The favorites finished the day with a victory. Shahriyar Mammadyarov won with black pieces, and Teymur Rajabov won with white pieces.
In the women's competition, Gunay Mammadzada, Govhar Beydullayeva, Ulviyya Fataliyeva, Khanim Balajayeva and Gulnar Mammadova were strong in the first games. While Zeynab Mammadyarova also finished the day with one point, Turkan Mammadyarova was upset by the defeat.
