The "Champions Battle" chess tournament concludes today at the Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum.
Idman.biz reports that after two days of rapid games, participants will test their strength in blitz today.
Among men, Azerbaijani champion Rauf Mammadov will face former World Cup winner Rustam Kasimdzhanov (Uzbekistan), while women's national champion Gunay Mammadzada will face former world and European champion Antoaneta Stefanova (Bulgaria).
After the rapid games, Mammadov leads Kasimdzhanov 7:3, and Mammadzada leads Stefanova 6:4.
The winner of the "Champions Battle" will be determined by the sum of the results of blitz and rapid matches.
