Azerbaijani chess player Khagan Ahmad (2290) has proven that his victory over Hikaru Nakamura (USA, 2804), who is second in the world ranking, was not accidental. Sport24.az reports that this was written on the official Instagram account of the International Chess Federation (FIDE).
FIDE highlighted this meeting at the World Rapid Team Championship held in London, the capital of England:
"The big surprise of the day. Khagan Ahmad stunned Hikaru Nakamura. He proved throughout the day that his victory was no accident. He won 9 out of 13 games against strong grandmasters."
It should be noted that Khagan Ahmad is 13 years old. He played for the Turkish team at the World Championship.
