Second place in the European Championship is a very high result.
"Report" reports that this was stated by the Vice-President of the Azerbaijan Chess Federation, Faig Hasanov, in a statement to journalists.
F.Hasanov stated that there have been changes in the team in recent years. Young, talented chess players have been involved in the team: "Chess players played well from the first day of the European Championship. Before the last round, we defeated the Ukrainian team. But even if we won the last round, we still wouldn't be able to become champions. Because the Ukrainian team was superior to us in terms of indicators. We had to win with a score of 4:0 to become champions. Such a score rarely happens.
In short, second place is a very high result. Because our team had not lost until the last round."
