Chess players who qualified for the national championship have been determined
The first league competitions among men and women organized at the Republican Chess Center have come to an end. Sport24.az reports that chess players who took the first 5 places among men and the first 2 places among women in the qualifying tournament won tickets to the Azerbaijan Championship.
Thus, Murad Ibrahimli, who scored 7 points, not only became the winner of the competition, but also obtained the right to participate in the Azerbaijan Championship. Kenan Garayev, Suleyman Suleymanli, Umid Aslanov and Pasham Alizade, who scored 6 points each and shared 2-5 places respectively, will compete in the Azerbaijan Championship among men.
In the women's competition, Lala Huseynova and Maryam Agaverdieva, who scored 7.5 points each, finished the competition in 1-2 places and won tickets to the national championship.
It should be noted that the total prize fund of the competition was 10,000 manats. The winners of the first place in the men's and women's competitions received prizes of 2,500 and 1,200 manats, respectively. The Azerbaijan Championship among men and women will start on January 31.
