Sport24.az reports that Indian world champion Viswanathan Anand announced that he will not be able to travel due to health problems based on the opinion of doctors.
In this regard, Anand, who applied to the Azerbaijan Chess Federation, stated that he would participate in the next competitions with great pleasure.
It should be noted that in the tournament to be held on April 28-30 at the Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum, Azerbaijani champion Rauf Mammadov will face Uzbek world champion Rustam Kasimdzhanov. Gunay Mammadzada, the winner of the national women's championship, will compete with world and European champion Antoaneta Stefanova in the same tournament. The winner of the "Champions Battle" will be determined based on the total of rapid and blitz tournaments.
