                    The Azerbaijani women's chess team will face Uzbekistan for a spot in the World Championship, which will be held in Linares, Spain.
The Chess Federation's press service informed "Report" about this.
The prestigious competition will feature the host country Spain, the top 4 teams from the last World Championship in 2023 – Georgia, France, Kazakhstan, USA, as well as China, Ukraine, Peru, Egypt, India, and FIDE teams selected by continent according to the world ranking.
The 12th qualifying spot for the World Championship will be determined in the match between the Azerbaijani and Uzbek teams. The qualifying match for the World Cup will be held on November 1-2 at the "Dinamo" Hotel in Baku.
The team that wins the rapid competition at the end of the two days will qualify for the World Championship.
The Azerbaijani national team will compete in the match with this lineup: Gunay Mammadzada, Gulnar Mammadova, Khanim Balajayeva, Govhar Beydullayeva, and Ulviyya Fataliyeva. The captain of the team will be European champion Gadir Huseynov.
The chief arbiter of the Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan match is Faig Hasanov.
It should be noted that the World Cup will be held between November 18-23.
