The famous "Chess.соm" portal has compiled a list of grandmasters who have won the most awards in chess history. Competitions with a prize pool of more than $10,000 were taken into account. Sport24.az reports that Azerbaijani grandmasters Shahriyar Mammadyarov and Teymur Rajabov are included in the list.
Grandmaster Shahriyar Mammadyarov, who is in 21st place, has won a total of 1 million 781 thousand 988 dollars (3,030,000 AZN), and 38 thousand 639 dollars (65,686.30 AZN) in 2025.
Teymur Rajabov, who is in 28th place in the list, has earned a total of 1 million 117 thousand 290 dollars (1,900,000 AZN), and 6,275 dollars (10,667.50 AZN) in 2025.
It should be noted that Norwegian Magnus Carlsen took the first place. He has earned 12 million 232 thousand 249 dollars (1 million 455 thousand 276 in 2025) from all the tournaments he has participated in so far.
