The "Grand Swiss 2025", one of the most prestigious tournaments in the chess world, will start on September 3 in Samarkand.
Idman.biz reports that Shahriyar Mammadyarov, Rauf Mammadov, Aydin Suleymanli, Mohammad Muradli, as well as Ulviyya Fataliyeva, Govhar Beydullayeva and Khanim Balajayeva will represent our country in Samarkand.
The "Grand Swiss 2025", which will last until September 15, will be organized according to the Swiss system in 11 rounds. The strongest grandmasters holding high places in the world chess ranking will participate here.
According to the results of the competition, four of the strongest chess players, 2 men and 2 women, will qualify for the "Candidates Tournament".
The total prize fund of the tournament is 855,000 US dollars.
