The Azerbaijani men's national chess team has lost its chance to become European champion for the fourth time.

The decisive match ended in failure for the Azerbaijani team - our team lost to Serbia with a score of 1:3.
Shakhriyar Mamedyarov, playing with white pieces on the first board, unexpectedly lost in the match against Alexey Sarana. Then, Aydin Suleymanli also faced defeat in the game with Robert Markus. At this time, Eltaj Safarli defeated Velimir Ivic, reducing the difference in the score. However, Rauf Mammadov's defeat by Aleksandar Inđić determined the final score - 3:1.
