19-year-old Uzbek grandmaster Javokhir Sindarov has won the World Cup held in Goa, India.
Idman.Biz reports that in the second game of the tie-break stage of the final, Sindarov defeated China's Wei Yi with black pieces.
It is noted that Sindarov has gone down in history as the youngest grandmaster to win the title of champion in the history of the Chess World Cup.
C. Sindarov received the grandmaster title at the age of 12, and in 2022 he helped the national team of Uzbekistan win the World Chess Olympiad.
Earlier, in 2023, the World Cup was won by Norwegian Magnus Carlsen.
