U-23 European Championship: Ceyhun Allahverdiyev wins silver medal, Azerbaijani wrestlers in the final - UPDATED

Azerbaijani freestyle wrestler Ceyhun Allahverdiyev won a silver medal at the European U-23 Wrestling Championship held in Zrenjanin, Serbia.

According to Idman.Biz, the Azerbaijani wrestler faced Armenian wrestler Levik Mikaelyan in the final match and lost with a score of 1:2.

The European U-23 Wrestling Championship continues in Zrenjanin, Serbia.

According to Idman.Biz, Azerbaijani wrestlers Gultekin Shirinova (55 kg) and Gunay Gurbanova (59 kg) qualified for the final.

Shirinova defeated her Moldovan opponent Mihaela Samoili, and Gurbanova defeated Romanian Ana Maria Puiu.
The European Championship will conclude on March 15.

The European U-23 Wrestling Championship continues in Zrenjanin, Serbia.

According to Idman.Biz, three Azerbaijani wrestlers competed on the third day of the competition: Asmar Cankurtaran (50 kg), Gultekin Shirinova (55 kg) and Gunay Gurbanova (59 kg).

Shirinova and Gurbanova advanced to the semi-finals, while Cankurtaran stopped competing after losing to her opponent.

The U-23 European Championship continues today in Zrenjanin, Serbia.

Idman.Biz reports that women wrestlers will join the competition on the third day of the tournament.

Members of the national team Asmar Cankurtaran (50 kg), Gultekin Shirinova (55 kg) and Gunay Gurbanova (59 kg) will step onto the mat.

In freestyle wrestling, Ceyhun Allahverdiyev (61 kg) will face Levik Mikayelyan from Armenia in the final, Ali Tsokayev (92 kg) will face Fatih Altunbaş from Turkey, and Yusif Dursunov (125 kg) will face Habib Davudgadjiyev from Russia.

Aganazar Novruzov (74 kg) and Vasif Khudiyev (86 kg) will compete for a bronze medal.

It should be noted that previously, freestyle wrestlers Vasif Baghirov (57 kg) and Sabuhi Amiraslanov (79 kg) won silver medals, while Musa Aghayev (65 kg), Ramik Heybatov (70 kg) and Zafar Aliyev (97 kg) won bronze medals.

The European Championship will conclude on March 15.
