Today, five Azerbaijani freestyle wrestlers will start competing in the European Championship held in Tirana, the capital of Albania.
İdman.Biz reports that Islam Bazarqanov (57 kg), Rashid Babazade (65 kg), Kenan Heybatov (70 kg), Jabrayil Hajiyev (79 kg) and Osman Nurmagomedov (97 kg) will test their strength by stepping onto the mat.
At the same time, three more Azerbaijani female wrestlers will compete for bronze medals during the day. Jale Aliyeva (57 kg), Ruzanna Mammadova (62 kg) and Birgul Soltanova will compete for third place in the European Championship.
It should be reminded that earlier Greco-Roman wrestlers Hasrat Jafarov (67 kg) and Gurban Gurbanov (82 kg) won gold medals, and Rashad Mammadov (55 kg), Nihat Mammadli (60 kg), Islam Abbasov (87 kg) won bronze medals. The Azerbaijani Greco-Roman wrestling team became the first in the team score. Among women, Gunay Gurbanova (59 kg) won a bronze medal.
