The Carolina Hurricanes hockey club from the US has won the Stanley Cup after 20 years.
Sport.News reports that in the sixth game of the NHL playoff final series, Carolina defeated Vegas 3-0.
With this, Carolina won the series 4-2 and secured their second Stanley Cup in history. The club first achieved this success in 2006, when they defeated Edmonton 4-3 in the final. The team's captain at the time was Rod Brind'Amour, who is now the head coach.
Note that Carolina also reached the final in 2002 but lost the decisive series to Detroit 1-4.
