The volleyball world championship, which is scheduled to start in Thailand in August, is under threat - the war with Cambodia may hinder the tournament.
İdman.biz reports that due to the military clashes on the Thai-Cambodian border, women's national teams have begun to reconsider whether they will participate in the World Cup.
This was reported by "Sport Interia".
Poland has already announced its position on this issue: "We are waiting for information from FIVB (International Volleyball Federation). We want to know what their plans are. Will they take any action regarding this situation? In the recent past, we participated in the process of changing the venue of the World Championship. We will definitely hold negotiations with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, as well as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. We will wait for their instructions. We need some time to get more information."
FIVB previously stated that the tournament would be held as previously planned. However, after this statement, the situation on the Cambodian-Thai border became even more tense. For this reason, many teams are awaiting a new decision from FIVB.
