Kayla Simmons was the captain of the University of Florida team, played for the US youth team, then moved to the volleyball team of Marshall University, the second largest American university, and then successfully played at the NCAA level (America's strongest college league).
According to Lent.az, citing foreign media, the 28-year-old girl could still delight volleyball fans today, but she had to end her sports career due to criticism: not everyone liked her frank photos on social networks.
"I wasn't really trying to be a bikini model. When I was a little younger, I liked going to the beach and taking pictures," she said.
Simmons grew up in an athletic family - her father played baseball at the University of Florida and her grandfather was a pitcher for the Pittsburgh Pirates.
