The beach volleyball competitions have started at the World Summer Universiade held in the Rhine-Ruhr region of Germany.

In the women's competition, the Azerbaijani pair Sabina Alizadeh - Fidan Ahmadkhanova lost in two sets to the Swiss duo Menia - Annika (21:11, 21:8).
Our men's duo Nariman Bayramli - Aykhan Abdullayev also lost to the Czech pair Dzavoronok - Trusil. The first set ended with a difference of 13 points (8:21). The Czechs also won the second set - 11:21.
