Two Vietnamese volleyball players have failed a gender test at the U21 Women's World Championship in Indonesia.
Idman.biz reports, citing the "Jakarta Globe," that two athletes from the Vietnamese national volleyball team have been identified as male.
The test for gender confirmation was conducted based on a request from the opposing team – they suspected a violation of the rules.
The International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) has canceled the results of all matches involving these athletes and removed them from the tournament.
As a result, the Vietnamese team will not be able to qualify for the 1/8 finals and will compete for 17th-24th places. The Vietnam Volleyball Federation has filed an appeal with the FIVB regarding this decision.
