The Turkish national team defeated the Netherlands in the play-off match of the 1/8 finals of the 2025 Volleyball World Championship.
Idman.biz reports that the match ended with a score of 3:1 (27:29, 25:23, 25:19, 25:19). With this, the Turks have advanced to the 1/4 finals of the World Championship for the first time in their history.
In the 1/4 finals, they will face the Polish national team, which defeated Canada 3:1.
The 2025 FIVB Men's Volleyball World Championship is being held in the Philippines from September 12 to 28. 32 teams divided into eight groups participate in the competition. Play-off games started on September 20.
The current world champion is the Italian national team.
