The Azerbaijani U-18 women's volleyball team, like the other three teams, has aspirations in the second qualifying round of the European Championship.
The team's head coach, Shahin Chatma, made a statement to "Report" about this.
The specialist shared his thoughts on the games of Group C, which will be hosted by Spain from March 27 to 29:
"Preparation for these matches continues. In addition to the host Spain, the Netherlands and Estonia national teams are also in the group. Like the other three teams, we also have claims in these games. That is, we will go to Spain to represent Azerbaijan in the best possible way."
Sh. Chatma recalled that the respective age groups of Spain and the Netherlands had previously participated in European championships:
"Especially Spain has been investing heavily in volleyball in recent years. The Netherlands is a team with a stable line in volleyball for many years. Estonia is a familiar opponent that we have met before in Georgia."
The head of the national youth teams added that he trusts the volleyball players and the coaching staff:
"Our biggest dream is to finish this tournament with the best possible result and qualify for the European Championship."
It should be noted that U-18 will play its first match against Spain on March 27. In the following days, they will face the Netherlands and Estonia, respectively. In the second qualifying round, 20 teams will compete in 5 groups, and only the group winners will qualify for the final stage of EURO-2026.
