"I am very happy that we became champions."
This was stated to Idman.biz by Margarita Stepanenko, a volleyball player of the Azerbaijani national team.
The attacker, who became the champion of Israel with Ashdod "Maccabi", shared her impressions of the victory. She said that the club had made special preparations for the final: "We lost to Hapoel Kfar Saba in the cup games. This gave us extra strength and motivation. As a result, we defeated the same opponent and won the gold medal."
Stepanenko, whose contract has expired, also spoke about her future career: "I have received offers from clubs in different countries. But I don't want to rush. We will decide on the best option for me. I have time to think."
The volleyball player of our national team emphasized that she will not be able to participate in the next games of the team for the time being: "I know that the Golden European League is waiting for our team. But I injured my leg in the last game. Maybe I broke it, I don't know exactly. I will have an MRI in Azerbaijan. I will return to Baku soon. In a month and a half, I plan to go to Ukraine and spend time with my family."
It should be noted that Stepanenko's team won the title by defeating its opponent "Hapoel Kfar Saba" in all three matches of the final.
