The "Xilasədici" - "Neftchi" game, held in the ninth round of the Azerbaijan Men's Volleyball Championship, has become a real highlight of the season.
The match, which ended with a hard-fought 3:2 victory for "Neftchi" (22:25, 17:25, 25:22, 25:23, 17:15), brought the "oilmen" back to the top of the tournament table.
The current top three are: "Neftchi" - 20 points, "Ordu" - 19 points, "Xilasədici" - 16 points.
İdman.Biz learned the opinion of "Neftchi"'s head coach, Ukrainian specialist Viktor Boldarev, regarding the outcome of the game.
"I try to set up the team for every game as seriously as possible, regardless of the opponent. We approach games with "Gencler" in the same way, even though they haven't won yet, but can surprise in any match. Before this match, I reminded the volleyball players once again that the advantage of the Azerbaijan championship is that there are no easy games here - each of the six clubs can defeat the other, and at least four of these six teams can become champions. Yesterday's match proved the truth of my words: our opponents fought with the determination to win the championship, but we were slightly superior. Yes, we are currently in first place, but this does not mean anything yet - there are many games ahead and the situation can change every round," said Viktor Boldarev.
