Natalya Mammadova, the star of Azerbaijani volleyball and one of the world's leading volleyball players in the recent past, has become a mother and is currently raising a son.
Natalya Mammadova herself exclusively informed Idman.Biz about this for the first time. As is known, she does not publicize the details of her personal life.
The Azerbaijani former volleyball player, who has played for many famous clubs during her career, arrived in Baku a few days ago and watched the game organized within the framework of the Azerbaijan Women's High League. Natalya Mammadova attended the game with her child. Later, in a conversation with our journalists, Mammadova confirmed that she is a mother.
"I am currently on maternity leave, raising my son. I have given 20 years to volleyball and now it is time to focus on family. I want to raise and nurture a good person. I haven't thought about work and future career yet, because I am busy with a small child," said Mammadova.
The former athlete living in France also spoke about the reasons for her visit to Baku.
"I came both to relax and to see some of my work. But the main goal was to see my friends and loved ones. We have many volleyball-related memories with them. This is a big part of our lives," Mammadova noted.
She also shared her impressions of the changes taking place in the capital of Azerbaijan.
"I was last here a few years ago. The city has changed, it is expanding, being improved and developed. It is always nice for me to return to Baku. My youth was spent here and I feel very good here," the former volleyball player emphasized.
Speaking about the current state of Azerbaijani volleyball, N. Mammadova noted the importance of people who play a role in the development of this sport.
"I went to watch the game, but unfortunately I couldn't watch it completely, because I had to leave as soon as the game started. Therefore, I cannot say much about the level of the game. I am glad that volleyball is still alive and this is thanks to Faig Garayev and his colleagues. They remain committed to this cause and develop and promote Azerbaijani volleyball," Mammadova added.
