Our national volleyball team of boys under 18 has played three matches at the Eastern European Volleyball Zonal Association (EEVZA) Championship.
Idman.Biz reports that Jahangir Seyid Abassi, the head coach of the Azerbaijani national team, which competed with the national teams of Estonia, Ukraine and Georgia, made a statement.
"The Estonian and Ukrainian teams are among the strongest in Europe. Our first meeting was with Estonia, and our goal was to start the tournament with a victory. However, our players made a lot of mistakes and could not show the game we wanted. Although there were 3-4 experienced players in the team, most of the team was participating in an international competition for the first time, and this affected the result," said the head coach.
In the second match, our opponent was Ukraine. Seyid Abassi noted that although this game was with a more experienced team, our team showed a better game compared to the previous match and fought in a principled way.
In the last game of the tournament, the opponent of the Azerbaijani national team was the Georgian team. "The children played very well in this game and won a confident victory with a score of 3:0. This victory increased the team's self-confidence and created motivation for future competitions," he added.
