"We lost in experience."
This was stated to Idman.biz by Farid Jalalov, the head coach of the Azerbaijani men's volleyball team.
The specialist evaluated the games in the first stage of the Silver European League. The coach said that they faced difficulties in a number of aspects due to the experience factor in the game they lost 0:3 to Sweden: "The match went evenly until certain scores. Then experience had its say. With the exception of a few players, most of them are under 25 years old. I also noted in my interview with you before the games that since most of the volleyball players in the team are young, they only play in the national championship. When you suddenly face a nation like Sweden, of course, we will lose in terms of experience. In the second set, the guys gathered themselves to some extent, and we even had the advantage in some moments. We forced the opponent to take a time-out twice."
Jalalov emphasized that they surpassed the opponent in terms of experience in the match with Georgia, which they won with a score of 3:0: "Although the game with Georgia went evenly up to a certain point, we won because we were superior in terms of experience. Despite the fact that we were losing to them in height."
It should be noted that our national team is in 4th place in the tournament table with 4 points after 2 matches in the European Silver League. Our team will host the next stage of the tournament. Our team will host Luxembourg on June 13 and Hungary on June 15 in Baku.
