Members of the Azerbaijan women's national volleyball team are currently seriously preparing for the Islamic Games. The team continues its training in the sports hall of the volleyball club of the National Aviation Academy.
Idman.Biz contacted head coach Faiq Garayev and talked about the team's goals and chances in this tournament:
"Of course, you can set the highest goals, but it's not worth it, because we have almost no chance... We are going to Saudi Arabia with almost the second team. Our strongest volleyball players play in the Russian, Greek, Turkish and Israeli championships. Unfortunately, none of the clubs in these countries released any of our volleyball players! This is understandable, because the championships of these countries are currently in full swing and it would not be correct to object to the clubs in this matter. But it is not right to demand a championship from such a team. If we can reach the semi-finals, we will be very happy," said F. Garayev.
