Azerbaijani international referee Eldar Zulfugarov has been appointed to a Challenge Cup match. Sport24.az reports that the Azerbaijan Volleyball Federation has released information about this.
Appointed by the European Volleyball Confederation, Eldar Zulfugarov will be the second referee in the quarter-final stage of the Challenge Cup between the women's volleyball clubs "Kaposvari" (Hungary) and "Nova Gorica" (Slovenia), which will be held in Hungary today.
The chief referee of the match will be Cevril Ebru Kaya from Turkey.
This year, the CEV Referees Committee has launched a new project - "CEV Mentoring Program 2026". 16 experienced referees (they are called mentors during the project) have been involved in the project. One of them is our compatriot Eldar Zulfugarov.
Within the framework of the project, new referees are appointed as first referees in competitions. Experienced referees are second referees in the game and evaluate the work of the new referees after the match.
