The Azerbaijan national under-18 beach volleyball team will strive to perform better in the upcoming competitions and qualify for the European Championship.
"Report" reports that Ibrahim Mammadov, a member of the national team, said this in a statement to the press service of the Azerbaijan Volleyball Federation.
He shared his thoughts on the performances at the Eastern European Volleyball Zonal Association (EEVZA) championship:
"We finished the group stage in second place. We defeated the Lithuanian national team in the play-offs. In the 1/4 finals, we lost to the host Latvia team. The tournament qualified for the European Championship. We would very much like to be in the top three and represent our country in the continental championship. We will try to perform better in the next competitions and qualify for the European Championship."
Another member of the national team, Muhammad Aslanli, said that the tournament was successful for them:
"Very experienced and strong teams participate in the EEVZA championships. We did our best. We would also like to be among the winners. I believe that we will achieve higher results in the next competitions. Because today we have an experienced coach and a very good team."
It should be noted that Azerbaijan's U-18 national team took fifth place in the EEVZA championship.
