The draw ceremony for the Women's European Volleyball Championship has been held.
Idman.biz reports that Jalil Jafarov, Advisor to the President of the Azerbaijan Volleyball Federation (AVF), member of the Board of Directors of the European Volleyball Confederation (CEV), Elgar Bagirov, member of the Board of Directors of AVF, and Ayshan Abdulazimova, a volleyball player of our national team, also participated in the event. The draw ceremony was held in the famous Norman-Swabian Castle in Bari, Italy.
As a result of the draw, the rivals of the Azerbaijan national team, which will participate in the European Championship for the 11th time in a row, have been determined. The matches of Group C will be held in our country, one of the hosts of the championship.
The rivals of our national team in the group are Portugal, the Netherlands, Belgium, Romania and Spain. Our team must take one of the first 4 places in the group to qualify for the 1/8 finals.
It should be noted that the European Championship will be held from August 21 to September 6, 2026, hosted by Azerbaijan, Turkey, Czech Republic and Sweden.
