The Azerbaijan Badminton Federation (ABF) has been awarded the BWF Inclusive 2025 award at the Badminton World Federation's annual General Meeting.
"Report" reports with reference to the federation's press service that ABF has joined the Council of the World Badminton Federation.
This was a historic event for the federation. At the 86th Annual General Meeting of the World Badminton Federation held in Xiamen, China, the President of the Azerbaijan Badminton Federation, Taleh Ziyadov, was elected as a member of the World Badminton Federation Council from Europe for a term of 4 years.
At the Annual Meeting of the World Badminton Federation, representing 143 countries, 744 million badminton fans and 400 million badminton players, Thai Kunying Patama Leeswadtrakul was elected president of the organization for a term of 4 years.
In his statement regarding this, T.Ziyadov said that Azerbaijan's role in the World Badminton Federation Council will greatly contribute to the development of badminton in the country.
Azerbaijan has risen from 85th to 46th place in the World Badminton Federation ranking. Our country successfully hosted international badminton events - the Congress of the European Badminton Confederation in 2023 and the European Mixed Team Championship in 2025.
ABF provides serious support for the development and promotion of world badminton.
Contributing to programs such as "Shuttle Time", ABF provided Botswana, Djibouti, Cameroon, Gambia and Madagascar with badminton equipment - rackets and shuttlecocks - to support the promotion of badminton.
The Azerbaijan Badminton Federation, which provides great support for the development of badminton in Africa, was awarded the BWF Inclusive 2025 award at the Annual General Meeting of the World Badminton Federation. Founded in 1962, the federation has become one of the most active members of the world badminton family with international tournaments, development programs and strategic partnerships.
