AVF leadership met with the women's national volleyball team: Golden European League and future plans were discussed

The leadership of the Azerbaijan Volleyball Federation (AVF) met with members of our women's national volleyball team.

Idman.biz reports that the meeting was attended by the President of AVF Shahin Baghirov, Vice-President and head coach of the national team Faig Garayev, Vice-President Bahruz Guliyev, Secretary General Faig Orujov, and team manager Sabina Babayeva. Volleyball players who are currently abroad joined the meeting online.

Speaking at the event, Baghirov first spoke about the Golden European League, which ended some time ago. He noted with regret that our team could not perform as desired in the competition this year. He stated that several of our leading players could not help the national team for certain reasons, which led to a weak result. However, the head of AVF announced that the Islamic Solidarity Games will be held in November this year, and the group stage of the European Championship will be held in Baku in August next year, and stressed the importance of focusing on these games. Sh. Baghirov also noted that important work is being done in our country today to develop children's volleyball, and talented volleyball players are being trained. He expressed his belief that these volleyball players will be involved in the national team in the coming years and will successfully perform in prestigious competitions. The President of the Federation wished the members of our national team success and wished them an injury-free season.

Faig Garayev said that the club season is already starting and volleyball players are preparing for the next season with their teams. However, he emphasized that the preparation process for the Islamic Solidarity Games will also be organized. He also added that discussions will be held regarding participation in the group stage of the European Championship, which will be held in our country next year. F. Garayev said that the draw ceremony for the group stage of the continental championship will be held in the coming months, and after that, a plan for preparing for the competition will be drawn up.

Later, members of our national team also spoke and shared their thoughts on preparing for the upcoming competitions.
