The prospects of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Poland in the field of anti-doping have been discussed.
The Azerbaijan National Anti-Doping Agency (AMADA) informed "Report" about this.
Within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding signed in March 2025 between AMADA and the Polish Anti-Doping Agency (POLADA), a delegation led by Michal Rinkovski, director of POLADA and chairman of the Monitoring Group of the Council of Europe's Anti-Doping Convention, met with Tahmina Taghi-zadeh, Executive Director of AMADA.
During the meeting, there was a broad exchange of views on the obligations arising from the Memorandum of Understanding, areas for the development of mutual cooperation and issues of common interest. The parties emphasized the importance of promoting a clean sports environment, strengthening awareness among athletes, implementing joint projects in the fight against doping and exchanging experiences.
The meeting also discussed topical issues related to the implementation of international anti-doping standards, compliance with the requirements set by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and the implementation of the Council of Europe Anti-Doping Convention. The possibilities of organizing anti-doping trainings, developing laboratory capacities and implementing joint educational programs to support athletes were also considered within the framework of future cooperation plans.
Then, the parties shared their concerns about the competition called "Enhanced Games", which is planned to be held in Las Vegas in May 2026 and openly promotes doping, and emphasized that such initiatives pose a serious threat to the health of athletes and the principles of clean sports. It was specifically noted that such events contradict fair competition in sports and have a negative impact on young people.
The parties emphasized the importance of adhering to international anti-doping policy and noted the importance of strengthening cooperation in this direction at the regional and international levels. Finally, it was stated that such visits and partnerships will make an important contribution to the promotion of clean sports values not only in the local but also in the international sports community.
