The sports uniform worn by Dutch Olympic champion and speed skating master Yutta Leerdam at the XXV Winter Olympic Games held in Italy this year has been sold at auction for a record price.
"Report" reports, citing the "nu.nl" portal, that the final sale price of the uniform at the auction was 195,000 euros.
A large part of the funds raised from the sale will be transferred to the "Pijnacker" skating club, where Leerdam started playing sports as a child. The organizers of the auction considered this amount paid for one garment as an exceptional case. It was reported that this result is an absolute record in the history of the platform organizing the auction, and even Cristiano Ronaldo's lots have not been sold at this price so far.
A total of 19 Olympians' clothing was put up for sale at the auction. All funds raised will be used to support children's and youth clubs where champions are raised.
It should be noted that the uniform of another Dutch athlete, Femke Kok, who won a gold medal in the 500-meter race in Milan, was sold for 4,802 euros.
