The first day of the men's individual figure skating competition at the Winter Olympics in Milan has concluded. Twenty-nine skaters presented their short programs.
According to Idman.Biz, Azerbaijani athlete Vladimir Litvintsev scored 63.63 points, finishing in last place, and therefore failed to qualify for the free skate competition.
Ilia Malinin, representing the USA, led the individual competition on the first day of the tournament with 108.16 points. Malinin and the other 23 athletes who qualified for the next stage will continue the fight for medals on February 13.

According to Idman.Biz, the athlete scored 63.63 points. This is his lowest score to date, as the men's singles competition is still ongoing.
The top 24 of the 29 skaters will qualify for the free skate. Litvintsev's chances of qualifying are almost non-existent.
This is the second Olympics for the Azerbaijani figure skater. At the 2022 Games, he scored 84.15 points in the short program and 155.04 points in the free skate, finishing in 18th place.

Today, on the competition day of the 25th Winter Olympic Games in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo, there will be competitions in a number of sports.
Idman.Biz reports that Azerbaijani representative Vladimir Litvintsev will begin his performance with the short program in figure skating.
This competition will start at 21:30 Baku time.
Today's program also includes competitions in alpine skiing, biathlon, cross-country skiing, curling, freestyle skiing, hockey, luge, Nordic combined, short track speed skating, skeleton, and ski jumping.
Another Azerbaijani athlete, Anastasia Papatoma, will test her strength in giant slalom on February 15, and in slalom three days later. Her competitions will take place at the famous Cortina d'Ampezzo ski resort.
It should be noted that the 25th Winter Olympic Games will end on February 22.
