Today, Azerbaijani athletes will compete in four different sports at the VI Islamic Solidarity Games held in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia.
Idman.Biz reports that athletes Nazim Babayev will compete in the long jump, Lamiya Veliyeva in the 200m, and the mixed team in the 4x400m relay.
In jiu-jitsu, Ilyas Babayev (85 kg), Najmaddin Guluzade (69 kg) and Firdovsi Zamanov (94 kg) will try to succeed.
Men's and women's fencing teams will compete in both épée and sabre.
Freestyle wrestlers Islam Bazarqanov (57 kg), Ali Rahimzade (65 kg), women wrestlers Ruzanna Mammadova (62 kg), Nigar Mirzazade (68 kg) and Zahra Karimzade (76 kg) will step onto the mat.
It should be noted that the Islamic Games will end on November 21. Azerbaijan is in 10th place with 50 awards (7 gold, 16 silver, 27 bronze).
