Uzbek Minister Expresses Admiration for Holding the 3rd CIS Games in the Regions

The holding of the 3rd CIS Games in the regions is impressive.

According to a "Report" employee seconded to Ganja, Uzbek Minister of Youth Policy and Sports Adham Ikramov told reporters.

He spoke about the meeting of the Council for Physical Culture and Sports of the participants of the "Agreement on Cooperation in the Field of Physical Culture and Sports of the States Participating in the Commonwealth of Independent States", which he attended in Ganja:

"First of all, I would like to congratulate Azerbaijan on behalf of the sports community of Uzbekistan. I would like to note that the opening ceremony held yesterday in Ganja with the participation of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev was magnificent. I must note that the preparation for the 3rd CIS Games was not easy. However, we saw that the sports infrastructure in the seven cities hosting the competition is at a high level. The head of your country, Ilham Aliyev, personally supervised the preparation of these venues. He also took part in the opening ceremonies of these sports facilities. This is really impressive, because the venues where the CIS Games are held are not in the capital Baku, but in the regions."

Note that the 3rd CIS Games will end on October 8. 1,624 athletes and 2,337 representatives from 13 countries participated in the competition. 340 athletes represent Azerbaijan, 4 represent Pakistan, 262 represent Russia, 254 represent Uzbekistan, 240 represent Belarus, 147 represent Kazakhstan, 144 represent Tajikistan, 126 represent Kyrgyzstan, 48 represent Turkmenistan, 38 represent Turkey, 11 represent Cuba, 6 represent Kuwait, and 4 represent Oman in the tournament.
