The 32nd World Summer Universiade, held in the Rhine-Ruhr region of Germany, has kicked off with individual competitions in fencing, specifically sabre and épée.
Idman.biz reports that our female épée fencers Aynur Guliyeva (4 wins) and Nazila Rahimova (3 wins) successfully passed the group stage and advanced to the playoffs.
Khadija Hasanli, with 1 win in the group, stopped competing.
The men's sabre individual competition will start at 14:00 Baku time. Maqsud Huseynli, Saleh Mammadov and Murad Akbarov will test their strength in this category.
