The Universiade continues in the Rhine-Ruhr region of Germany.
Idman.biz's correspondent sent to Germany reports that today Azerbaijani athletes will participate in competitions in rhythmic gymnastics, taekwondo, tennis, table tennis and swimming.
Two finals will be held today in the group competitions in rhythmic gymnastics. The team that won the gold medal in the all-around yesterday - Laman Alimuradova, Gullu Agalarzade, Darya Sorokina, Kamilla Aliyeva and Elizaveta Luzan - will compete for two more medals. Gymnasts will perform with five ribbons, as well as three balls and two hoops.
Taekwondo practitioners are also starting the fight. Today Khidir Mammadov (54 kg), Vasif Hajiyev (68 kg), Salima Guliyeva (46 kg) and Leyla Bashirova (57 kg) will join the competition.
Individual competitions are starting in table tennis. Nigar Mahmudova, Sabina Mammadova, Zemfira Mikayilova, Amin Oruczade, Nihad Samadzade and Tural Mirzayev will have their first matches.
Tennis player Kenan Gasimov will face US representative Trevor Joseph Svayda in the second stage. Then, together with Elvin Hashimov, he will play against French tennis players William Juchi and Robinson Le Meur in the doubles competition.
In swimming, Ramil Valizade and Abdurrahman Rustamov will swim 200 meters butterfly, and Said Hamidov will swim 200 meters backstroke.
