Ukraine supports the call for a ceasefire with Russia during the Winter Olympics.
İdman.Biz reports that this was announced to Reuters by Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha.
His words are a positive response to the call by the Pope and the President of Italy, where the Olympic Games are being held, to world leaders to use the competitions to promote peace.
"We support this call. We are interested in a ceasefire, and if Russia refuses it again, this will once again show who is hindering peace and who wants to continue this war," A. Sybiha emphasized.
The Minister added that this temporary ceasefire would undoubtedly pave the way for wider peace negotiations.
It should be noted that the Winter Olympic Games started in the Italian cities of Milan and Cortina and will last until February 22.
