The opening ceremony of the III CIS Games, organized in Azerbaijan, will be held today.
A "Report" employee dispatched to Ganja reports that the event at the Ganja City Stadium will start at 19:00.
The Azerbaijani flag will be carried by karateka Asiman Gurbanli and taekwondo practitioner Zemfira Hasanzada at the event.
It should be noted that 1,624 athletes and 2,337 representatives from 13 countries participated in the competition, which started two days ago. 340 athletes represent Azerbaijan, 4 represent Pakistan, 262 represent Russia, 254 represent Uzbekistan, 240 represent Belarus, 147 represent Kazakhstan, 144 represent Tajikistan, 126 represent Kyrgyzstan, 48 represent Turkmenistan, 38 represent Turkey, 11 represent Cuba, 6 represent Kuwait, and 4 represent Oman in the tournament.
The closing ceremony of the competition will take place on October 8 at the Ganja City Stadium.
