Japanese speed skater Tatsuya Sinama has expressed his concern about the situation in the Olympic Village of the "Milano-Cortina 2026" Winter Olympics. He noted that the atmosphere around the complex is alarming.
İdman.Biz, citing Nikkan Sport, reports that the 29-year-old athlete did not hide his doubts about the safety of the area.
"The area around the village is on the outskirts of the city. The atmosphere is a bit scary, you don't want to go out on the street at night. I try to be careful in everything," the athlete said.
It should be noted that security issues in the Olympic Village have been a topic of discussion for some time. Between December 2025 and January 2026, there were two acts of vandalism in the area, resulting in damage to about 60 shower cabins.
Tatsuya Sinama is the world champion in sprint all-around.
