Idman.biz reports that these thoughts were voiced by Spiros Kapralos, President of the European Olympic Committees (EOC), who joined the presentation ceremony of the "Baku-2015 – Artificial Intelligence and Innovation in Sports" competition online.
The EOC leader stated that the first European Games, a bold and ambitious project, was implemented thanks to the unparalleled efforts of President Ilham Aliyev, First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva, and the people of Azerbaijan:
"I still cannot forget those days - every arena, street and square was filled with festive mood, energy, pride and passion. More than 5,000 athletes from all over Europe came together not only to compete, but also to build lifelong friendships and memories.
This was a real turning point, showing the whole world what the unity and vision of Europe is capable of."
