Norwegian speed skater Sander Eitrem has set a record at the XXV Winter Olympic Games in Italy.
"Report" informs, citing the press service of the competition, that the athlete won a medal by covering a distance of 5000 meters in 6:03.95 seconds.
Eitrem, who was previously a world record holder, also broke the Olympic record with this result. He managed to surpass the previous Olympic record by more than three seconds.
The Czech Metodej Jilek (6:06.48) won the silver medal in the competition, and the Italian Riccardo Lorello (6:09.22) won the bronze medal.
