Our first finalist has been determined today at the 6th Islamic Solidarity Games, held in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia.
Idman.Biz reports that in swimming competitions, Said Hamidov qualified for the final by taking 6th place among 19 participants in the 200-meter individual medley.
Our other swimmer, Yegor Maynitskiy, finished in 11th place.
It should be noted that Azerbaijan is represented by 179 athletes in 20 sports at the 6th Islamic Solidarity Games. In total, 57 countries are competing for medals in 23 sports. The closing ceremony of the Games will be held on November 21.
