Russian Olympic weightlifting champion Andrey Chemerkin has died.
Report reports that the press service of the Russian Weightlifting Federation announced this.
The former athlete died at the age of 53.
It should be noted that Chemerkin won a gold medal at the 1996 Olympics and a bronze medal at the 2000 traditional competition. He also won four gold medals at world championships.
