Italian biathlete Rebeka Passler was temporarily suspended due to a positive doping test and removed from the Italian national team on the eve of the 2026 Olympics. However, she was able to successfully challenge the sanction.
Idman.Biz reports that this was announced by the press service of the Italian Winter Sports Federation.
The 24-year-old athlete was temporarily suspended from competition after the substance letrozole was detected in a doping sample she provided on January 26.
Passler appealed the decision to the arbitration court. The arbitration body sided with the biathlete, concluding that she had involuntarily taken the prohibited substance. Rebeka Passler will join the Italian national team on February 16 to participate in the Olympics.
