Rashad Abdurrahmanov, who was appointed advisor to the Swimming Federation, can do more useful work for the development of this sport in Azerbaijan.
This was stated by the official of the organization himself in an interview with "Report".
The specialist, who worked as the head coach of the Azerbaijani national team for 12 years, shared his thoughts on his new job:
"A lot needs to be done for the development of swimming in Azerbaijan. I am always ready to work as a head coach. I just thought that I can do bigger and more useful things for the development of swimming in Azerbaijan. For example, I am thinking of organizing international and coaching seminars, promotional activities, more professional work of coaches operating in the regions, and other things. It is very difficult to be divided into several places as a head coach. Therefore, it is important to bring a head coach to the team who uses new methodologies and sees schools. This would be a very good step. Azerbaijani athletes need great school experience to qualify for the final stage and win medals at the Summer Olympic Games. Therefore, the activity of a foreign coach is inevitable, and I welcome it. What I mentioned earlier is my second favorite job. Which I will be engaged in".
R. Abdurrahmanov feels comfortable in his new position:
"We must train our own coaches and improve those operating in the regions. We need coaches in the regions to develop swimming and identify and attract talented children. There is a lot of work to be done. Therefore, I feel very useful and comfortable in the new position. I have a scientific degree, I teach at the academy. This is one of my main profiles. That's why I accepted the offer. We must move towards development".
