Work has begun on returning the medals won by Azerbaijani athletes at the Paris-2024 Summer Olympics, which were subsequently scratched.
"Report" reports that the Azerbaijan National Olympic Committee has released information about this.
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has appealed to the "Chaumet" jewelry house, which is part of LVMH and is the manufacturer of the medals, regarding the issue.
The company stated that the order has been queued and the process of replacing the scratched medals is being carried out in stages.
The turn has now come to replace the scratched medals of Azerbaijani athletes.
In the coming days, the National Olympic Committee will send the medals to France and they will be replaced with new ones.
First of all, the medals of taekwondo athlete Gashim Magomedov and Greco-Roman wrestling prize-winner Hasrat Jafarov will be ensured to be sent.
According to reports, the production time for new medals will take approximately 3-5 weeks.
